Us presentem un arxiu sonor, The speech accent archive, que recull exemples d’accents en anglès de parlants d’orígens diversos.
Conté mostres d’àudio de parlants natius i no natius que llegeixen un mateix paràgraf i es presenta juntament amb la transcripció i l’estudi de les generalitzacions que es poden extraure de la lectura.
Us podeu apropar al contingut de diferents maneres. Es pot clicar a una zona concreta del atlas per veure les mostres recollides d’aquesta àrea. També es pot fer una selecció per l’idioma (hi surten dos exemples de parlants catalans) o pels diferents inventaris fonètics. Per filar més prim hi ha un formulari que permet cercar concretament per dades biogràfiques dels parlants, les llengües que parlen o per les generalitzacions dels accents.
